This is the time for any GTA 5 Online player to do some in-game purchases as Rockstar has announced discounts and exclusive unlocks as a part of its weekend event bonuses, following the release of Freemode Events update. The events are being held from 18 September to 20 September.
Rockstar posted on Newswire that these events will "help you gain an edge in the array of new games and challenges in this week's Freemode Events Update, retailers across Los Santos and Blaine County are slashing prices on a whole host of goods and services, including fast rides, heavy weapons and assistance from the likes of Lester Crest, Merryweather and Pegasus."
Players hoping to buy vehicles in-game but holding back due to the high prices can now go ahead, thanks to the 50% vehicle discounts offered. The new Freemode Events require specific kinds of vehicles in their challenges that will help in winning. Below is the list of vehicles that will get discounts:

- Annihilator
- Armoured Kuruma
- Bati801RR
- Besra
- Buzzard
- Dubsta
- Entity XF
- Frogger
- Hakuchou
- Insurgent
- Lectro
- Mallard
- Marshall
- Sanchez
- Savage

Players can also "wreak havoc" in the various Freemode Events as Ammu-Nation is offering 50% discounts on weapons, ammo and other items. Below are the discounts being offered:

Rockstar is also offering 50% discounts on phone services that will help them in the delivery of a Helicopter or Lazer or Buzzard Attack Chopper. Below are the services that get discounts:

As a celebratory gesture of Rockstar Editor's release on PS4 and Xbox One, Rockstar announced exclusive daily t-shirts with "Vinewood's biggest blockbusters." Below are the t-shirts players get over the weekend:
- Friday, 18 September: Vinewood Zombie
- Saturday, 19 September: I Married My Dad
- Sunday, 20 September: Die Already
Rockstar had earlier announced that players completing any five of the Freemode Events in GTA 5 Online before 20 September, will be rewarded with $50,000 GTA money bonus and an exclusive Vapid t-shirt for in-game character. It will be giving them out on 25 September.
Rockstar has not forgotten Xbox 360 and PS3 players, as it will increase the rate of special Event Crate Drops, Armored Trucks, Kill Targets and High Priority Vehicles and exclusive t-shirts.
It also announced a Freemode Event sweepstakes in Social Club Events Page, which will be offering Merryweather T-Shirt, Los Santos Lifeguard T-shirt, GTA V Epsilon Paperweight, GTA V Loneliest Robot Greeting Card, GTA V Lifeinvader Mouse Pad and Rockstar sticker packs.
Rockstar Assures Contracts missions fix and new content 'soon'
Rockstar has assured GTA 5 Online players that it is aware of a bug in Contract Missions and is investigating it.
"About missing Contact Missions, we are currently investigating the issue for a fix. As with any technical issues whatsoever, please make sure to hit up or make a tweet at Rockstar Support," Rockstar said on its Support page.
Rockstar revealed that it is working on its future update featuring more new cars, new vehicles and more. This was in reply to players asking the developer to provide more cars. The new update has no new cars featured in the content.
Fans have also discovered some secret, hidden features in the new Freemode Events update in the GTA 5 Online, more might follow in the coming days.
