Rockstar has finally revealed its Halloween weekend starting 31 October to 2 November, 2014 for GTA 5 Online. Players participating in the event can make use of the Double GTA money and Double RP all weekend in Deathmatches. Also in store for players are exclusive vintage T-shirts, firework launchers, miniguns via special crate drops. Rockstar is also offering 75% discount on all the Halloween-themed goodies like masks and costumes.

The maintenance downtime that has been reported has raised hopes and speculation among GTA 5 Online players if the Rockstar is getting ready to drop a new update 1.18 and Halloween DLC.

The servers were down on 29 October 2013 for around seven hours. It had said that through The Social Club website. However, though Rockstar did not release any update, it could be gearing up for the big one - update 1.18.

YouTuber DomisLive stressed on Rockstar to release the Halloween DLC for GTA 5 Online. He also says that the Halloween DLC could be a small DLC that could be made up of masks, scary costumes, chainsaw, machete and more.

The last update that was released by the company was the Last Team Standing DLC. This had disappointed many fans who were and still are expecting the long promised and delayed Heists DLC.

Previously, there were many hints in the source code that suggested that the Halloween DLC is more likely. However, it has left many worried since Rockstar has not yet released any updates for this.

Meanwhile, CVG argued that the downtime will let the company to prepare ground for its upcoming PS4 and Xbox One arrivals in November 2014.

GTA 5 will be released in PS4 and Xbox One on 18 November 2014. The PC version will be released on 27 January 2015.
