Season 13 of "Grey's Anatomy" will see Meredith's relationship with her sister Maggie tested, and Amelia might play a major role in bringing the sisters back together. The second half of Season 12 saw Meredith hooking up with Nathan without knowing that Maggie was also interested in the doctor. It remains unclear if Meredith will continue her relationship with Nathan, as Ellen Pompeo previously said that their sexual encounter might not turn into something serious, as she doesn't have any emotional connection with Nathan as yet.
The next season might see Maggie coming to know about Meredith and Nathan's sexual encounter, and she is going to be devastated. Rumours are rife that this will also create a rift between the sisters. But they are not going to stay mad at each other for long as both of them value their relationship too much to let it get ruined due to a casual hookup, believes actress Caterina Scorsone.
"It's possible that they'll both try and accommodate one another. I'm sure Amelia will do whatever she can do to ease anyone's pain in that family," Scorsone told Entertainment Weekly. "Right now, Amelia doesn't know about either of their situation with Riggs, so that will be something really fun to explore next year - how she's going to find out about Meredith and how she's going to find out about Maggie, and how they're going to deal with it," she said.
As for Amelia, she might be gearing up to start a family with Owen Hunt, whom she married in the Season 12 finale of the medical drama. "I think she wants children," Scorsone told TVLine. "She remembers her pre-tragedy childhood with Derek and their sisters fondly, and I think she would want to recreate that kind of boisterousness in the house. That's one of the reasons she wanted to move in with Meredith and Maggie — she likes a boisterous household!"
"Grey's Anatomy" will return to ABC in September.
