Season 13 episode 1 of ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy saw Alex facing the consequences of his actions.
The season began with DeLuca being rushed to the hospital, and it wasn't long before Ben and Meredith found out that Alex was the one who beat DeLuca to pulp. And before they could turn him in, Alex confessed his crime to the police and the episode ended with him behind bars. It remains to be seen how this will affect his career moving forward, but one thing fans can expect is that Meredith will definitely be there by Alex's side no matter what happens.
"The past is written, there's no changing it. What's done is done," Meredith says in the voiceover. "But the future is ours to choose, for better or worse."
Elsewhere in the episode, viewers saw April recovering after giving birth to a baby girl and the next episode will see Jackson coming up with a new arrangement so as to help April recover quickly. Does this involve him moving in with her? Actress Sarah Drew hinted in a recent interview with Variety that the baby will definitely prompt them to reconnect with each other.
"It's an interesting journey, certainly, the beginning of parenthood for both of them because they're not together, they're not a couple, but they have this little tiny human who is completely bonding them together and is tenderizing every moment for the two of them," she said. "They obviously have feelings for each other — those feelings never went away even though they got divorced, so it's an interesting thing to navigate, it's confusing and I think they're being very careful around one another, but they're also not quite sure who they are to one another at this point."
The synopsis for Catastrophe and the Cure reads:
Meredith considers her loyalties, as Alex deals with the repercussions of his actions. Newlyweds Amelia and Owen host a dinner party with unlikely guests, and Jackson proposes an arrangement to help April through her recovery.
