Bailey and her husband Ben's relationship will be tested in the upcoming episodes of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." According to the descriptions for episodes 18 and 19, Ben will go rogue once again, forcing Bailey to take strict actions against her husband who is a surgical resident at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, the same place where she is the chief.
Season 12 episode 13 titled "All Eyez on Me" saw Ben breaking protocol for the first time when he decided to cut open a patient without proper medical supervision or equipment. Though his actions saved the patient's life, neither Bailey nor Webber was impressed with his decision, and Bailey had to suspend him for three weeks.
In episode 18, "There's a Fine, Fine Line," which will air April 14, Ben decides to operate on a pregnant woman without proper surgical instruments. This will once again put him in trouble and Bailey will be forced to take strict disciplinary action against her husband. The next episode titled "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" will see Bailey setting up an advisory board to recommend the proper disciplinary action to be taken against Ben.
In an interview with Yahoo, actor Jason George hinted that Bailey being Ben's boss is going to cause a lot of tension in their relationship. "I completely understand Ben's situation where … it looks like he has a cushy situation because of his personal relationship, [but] he can't screw up at all. The tiniest screw-up will get him more grief at home. Where the average resident might get a 'Don't do that anymore,' Ben's going to get a whole conversation where he's told 'You reflect on me," yadda yadda."
It remains to be seen if Ben's impulsive action will cause permanent damage to their marriage.
"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays on ABC.
