Adult comedy "Great Grand Masti" (Masti 3) had a steady second day at the box office. The opening day and the second-day box office collection of "Great Grand Masti" remained same.
Indra Kumar's directorial "Great Grand Masti," which is the third instalment in the "Masti" series, earned just Rs. 5 crore in two days box office run. The opening day collection of "Great Grand Masti" is Rs. 2.50 crore and Saturday's earning is also Rs. 2.50 crore.
"#GreatGrandMasti Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 2.50 cr. Total: ₹ 5 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The box office collection of "Great Grand Masti" got affected due to the online leak and bad reviews. The full movie was leaked online before its scheduled release and makers have claimed that this has killed the film.
"It's a big loss for us. This has happened for the first time when a film is leaked 17 days before its official release. It has killed our film. It's a tough time for us. We are sad and upset," director Indra said in a press conference on Saturday.
"We are facing huge losses. It's unprecedented as the film was leaked three weeks before the official release. It must be almost Rs 100 crore loss," one of the lead actors Vivek Oberoi said.
The full movie was leaked online 17 days before its release. The makers and the lead actor came to know about it when their fans posted few images of the movie on social media. The makers advance the release by a week after the leak but did not talk about the issue.
Clarifying the same, Aftab Shivdasani explained to media why they kept mum after the film was leaked online. "We thought by talking about our problem, we would in a way tell people that our film is already available before its official release. This would mean more loss. So we thought about talking about the issue after the film is officially out," Aftab said.
