After a successful first season, fans of The Grand Tour are really excited to know when the second season of the Amazon Prime motoring show will begin. And James May had already dropped a hint about the time of arrival of the upcoming season.
The Grand Tour presenter James May said that the show will appear on Amazon Prime Video this October, according to DriveTribe. During the interview on The One Show, May said, "October is when you'll first be able to see it, but after that, you'll be able to see it whenever you want, of course. I'm told to say that!"
On being asked about the budget of the second season, May did not reveal much, but left a small hint. "As little as possible. No, it's about the same, I would think. It is quite an expensive show to make," May said.
He added, "There's a lot of travel involved. There's a lot of crew involved. There's a lot of tech involved, filming in 4K. But that's boring stuff. It's going to look largely the same, but we've moved it on a bit in a way that I can't really tell you about yet because you're the enemy and it's secret!"
While we don't know which cars will be featured in the second season, Autoblog mentioned that plenty of high-performance cars have been launched since the first season of The Grand Tour ended. They have also mentioned a few names — Ford GT, the Porsche 911 GT3, the McLaren 720S, and Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
The filming of the show has reportedly been wrapped up, and the former Top Gear trio is all geared up to finalise the editing of the motoring show. The Grand Tour season 2 will be uploaded on Amazon Prime Video in October 2017.
