Rockstar Games has announced it will revive Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas by releasing it for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Amazon Kindle in December.
San Andreas - a PlayStation 2 game - will be ported for mobile devices soon. Rockstar Games posted the announcement on Rockstar Newswire. It said the game will include Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and will be "upgraded" to be released on mobile devices.
It further added that the mobile port for San Andreas will have, "remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, enhanced character and car models."
Other features that will be part of the game are new touch controls - with control options that can be customised, three different control schemes for driving and manoeuvring and a reworked checkpoint system that will aid in greater ease in progression, explained Rockstar. It will also feature full controller support, especially for iOS7 controllers' Made.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was released in 2004. This is not the first time that Rockstar Games have ported titles from the popular action-adventure series. Previous games that were ported to mobile devices include Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Rockstar Games released its latest game in the series - Grand Theft Auto 5 - on 17 September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 devices. The studio also released an online multiplayer version titled Grand Theft Auto Online.
