Director Ali Abbas Zafar has commenced shooting for his upcoming film Bharat. He shared the news with his fans a couple of days ago on Twitter. And it has already generated a lot of excitement among the fans not for the film's ensemble cast of Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover but for a new member on the sets who has now taken the internet by storm.
Salman Khan's stylist Ashley Rebello shared a picture from the sets of Bharat with a man who has an uncanny resemblance to Lord Tyrion Lannister, one of the popular characters in Game of Thrones series played by Peter Dinklage. The picture has left fans confused and curious to know whether the makers have roped in the Hollywood actor to play a role in the film.
Last year, Salman introduced Chinese actress Zhu Zhu to Bollywood in Tubelight and is known for introducing new actors in his films. So has Peter Dinklage been roped in for Bharat alongside Salman Khan?
The man in question is Kashmiri actor Tariq Mir who makes a living as Peter Dinklage's doppelganger. The 30-year-old actor shot to fame when filmmaker Imtiaz Ali turned him into an overnight star when he shared a picture of Mir on Instagram with a caption that reads, "with Tyrion Lannister at the Pahalgam festival."
Mir had already been popular as Lannister's lookalike but it was Ali's line producer and distant relative Khawar Jamsheed gave him his big break in the industry when he auditioned for a clown's role at a children's event.
Hailing from Anantnag, Mir is now a famous personality in the valley who has sharp features as that of Peter Dinklage. He imitates his style, his walk and even his clothes similar to that in GoT.
On a related note, Bharat is an official remake of the 2014 South Korean film Ode to My Father. It is produced by Atul Agnihotri's Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar's TSeries. The movie is slated for an Eid release in 2019.
The Moroccan Canadian dancer and actress Nora Fatehi has also joined the Bharat cast and will play a Latino character in the Salman Khan-starrer. This will mark Nora's second film after My Birthday Song.
