"Gopala Gopala" is one of the most-awaited Telugu films of 2015. Fans of Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh are looking forward to the film's first look poster for the last few months. Earlier, there were reports that the poster would release for Krishna Jayanthi and later for Pawan's birthday on 2 September. However, no release was seen much to the disappointment of the fans.
Now that the first look has been confirmed for release on 28 November, it will be a real treat for Pawan and Venkatesh's fans.
The shooting of "Gopala Gopala" is progressing well and is expected to be completed soon. It will be Pawan and Venkatesh's first release of 2015. The actor has been on a roll, with their past releases having done well at the box office.
Pawan's last release "Attarintiki Daaredi" is the highest grossing Tollywood film of all time. On the other hand, Venkatesh's "Drushyam" (remake of Malayalam film "Drishyam") has emerged as a hit this year. It will be interesting to see if "Gopala Gopala" will be able to perform well at the box office.
The satirical drama is a remake of the Hindi film "Oh My God," which was critically-acclaimed and commercially successful. Venkatesh will be appearing in the role of a shop owner, while Pawan will be reprising Akshay Kumar's role of lord Krishna in the remake.
Directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani, "Gopala Gopala" has Mithun Chakraborty, Shriya Saran, Posani Krishna Murali, Raghu Babu, Vennela Kishore, Madhu Shalini and Prudhviraj in supporting roles. "Gopala Gopala" music is composed by Anoop Rubens, while cinematography is handled by Jayanan Vincent.
Produced by Suresh Babu and Sharrath Marar, "Gopala Gopala" is confirmed to release for Sankranti/Pongal 2015 release. "#Gopalagopala confirmed for a Pongal release. Work progressing at a very good pace," Marar tweeted.
The film is expected to release on 14 January, but an official announcement on the exact release date is still awaited.
