It's been close to six months since Asus unveiled the second-generation Google Project Tango-phone Zenfone AR at Consumer Electronics Show 2017, Las Vegas. Now, the flagship phone will finally be made available to the public soon.
The Zenfone AR is slated to be released first in the company's home market Taiwan in mid-June and later in the US in July, Jerry Shen, CEO, confirmed to Engadget.

Asus has confirmed that the Zenfone AR (6GB RAM+128GB storage) model will be made exclusively available on Verizon in America.The price details will be announced in coming days.
The Zenfone AR boasts of a 23MP shooter, which comes equipped with Tango TriCam system featuring Motion tracking camera that lets ZenFone AR track its location as it moves through space and has a depth sensing camera with an infrared (IR) projector that lets ZenFone AR measure its distance from real-world objects
The new Asus phone features top-of-the-line hardware. It comes with 5.7-inch WQHD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core with 6GB/8GB RAM, 32GB/63GB/128GB/256GB internal storage, 8MP front camera and a 3300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
The highlight of the Project Tango phone is it comes with a set of sensors and computer-vision software developed by Google that offers unique AR user experiences on a smartphone, such as AR gaming, AR utilities, and indoor navigation. And, Daydream is Google's platform for high quality, mobile virtual reality and supports Daydream VR apps.
With such advanced software and hardware, Assu Zenfone AR user can enjoy immersive 3D-shopping experience on e-commerce website.
For instance, Wayfair's in-house AR app allows shoppers to visualise furniture and décor in their homes before making a purchase, tackling one of the largest barriers to online shopping.
With AR technology, WayfairView app users can select a furniture from an extensive 3-D catalogue, and virtually preview items in any of their rooms through the lens of a smartphone.
Asus has promised there will be more than 1000 such AR and VR-ready applications on Google Play store.
