Software giant Google has reportedly started sending out invitations for an event on Oct 29 in New York City.
According to The Verge, the invitations contain no information about the event other than a line which read "the playground is open."
"An invitation from Google just landed in our inboxes for an event at 10AM in New York City, and while the invite is light on specifics aside from a tagline reading 'the playground is open,'" The Verge reported.
What is expected from the event is the rumoured LG Nexus phone. The possibility of LG Nexus, the next generation smartphone from the Google has been speculated for sometimes. With Google now sending out the invitations, chances of the rumors turning into reality are rife.
Google had earlier joined hands with companies like HTC, Asus and Samsung in developing a Nexus smartphone. Should the speculations ring true then LG will get its share to become part of the Nexus market. It has been rumored that the next flagship device will look similar to LG's recently unveiled Optimus G.
According to The Wall Street Journal, LG is not the only one company that Google may partner with for the next Nexus launch. This view was strengthened further when the images of Sony Xperia, which was shown as Nexus, went viral on Picasa earlier this week. Apart from Nexus 4, the tech world is also waiting for the launch of the 32GB Nexus 7 that is speculated to hit the market this year end.
