The much awaited Google Nexus 8 aka HTC Volantis specifications are leaked online inciting excitement among the Android tablet fans.
Google Nexus 7 2013 edition completed its one-year cycle last month (on 27 July), and now its time for the tablet's successor to make way to the market with no further delay, considering that the rumoured Project Silver is slated to take-off in early 2015.
Twitter spy, UpLeaks has released the features of the alleged Google Nexus 8 tablet giving further impetus to the existence of the device. The upcoming flagship HTC slate is said to boast metallic chassis, Android L OS (without Sense UI), 4GB RAM, 64-bit Tegra processor (Nvidia K1), 8.0-megapixel IMX219 (Sony) camera and a 1.6-megapixel front camera.
Though most of the leaked features are in line with the previous reports, there are some anomalies with regard to its front-camera and RAM capacity specifications. Earlier reports had pointed that the HTC tablet would house a 3MP front-camera and 2GB RAM.
There is no official word on when Nexus 7 successor might get unveiled, but if PhoneArena report is to be believed, the launch day seems not that far. HTC device codenamed "0P8210000," understood to be the Nexus 8 got certified by the South Korea government owned telecommunication board, FCC (Federal Communication Commission).
If we look back to the history, any device upon getting certified by a government agency is most certain to get launched in a few weeks time, so we can expect HTC tablet to finally see the light of the day in early September, probably during the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2014 in Germany, which is slated to kick-off on 5 September.
As of now, both Google and HTC are yet to respond to the rumors twirling in the Internet. Until the companies clear the air over the rumours, this report will remain as pure speculations only.
