Search engine giant Google is reportedly planning to release the second generation tablet Nexus 7 and the new Nexus 5 smartphone in India in a few days time.
Times of India, citing sources, has revealed that the Nexus 7 (2013 version) may hit stores around 12 November. The tipsters further added that the newly unveiled Nexus 5 smartphone may make its India debut probably by the month end.
The second generation Nexus 7, jointly developed by Taiwanese firm Asus and Google, made its global debut on 27 July and has been already released in western markets (US, Canada and select European regions). It sports a 7.02-inch IPS full HD LCD screen, with pixel density 323 ppi (pixels per inch).
The new Nexus 7 ships with v4.3 Jelly Bean OS (v4.4 KitKat update will be rolled out soon) and packs a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage (non-expandable). It also boasts a 5.0-megapixel camera with full HD video recording ability and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing secondary camera.
Google Play Store (India Edition) has listed the new Nexus 7 (2013 version)- 32GB LTE model for ₹25,999. The online store has also revealed the prices of two other storage variants, but in US dollar denomination - $229(around ₹14,140) for 16GB (Wi-Fi only) and $269 (around ₹16,610) for 32GB (Wi-Fi only).
On the other hand, the new Nexus 5 smartphone is produced by Google and the South Korean major LG. It sports a 4.95-inch full HD IPS display with pixel density of 445 ppi (pixels per inch) and packs 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor, 450MHz Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and comes in two storage capacities: 16GB and 32GB (no microSD card support).
Google Play Store (India) has already released price details: 16 GB model will costs ₹28,999 and 32GB has a price-tag of ₹32,999.
