Google Nexus 7-2 Press Shots Leaked Days Ahead of Company Event

With less than a few days before the Google event kicks off on Wednesday, a press render of the upcoming Nexus 7 successor has been leaked online.

Serial leakster @evleaks, just a few hours ago, posted the purported press shots of Google Nexus 7-2. The back panel in the picture sports a camera, three speaker holes - one on top and other two placed side-by-side at the bottom (probably to give stereo sound effects ). It also features a smooth matte finish compared to a dotted back panel seen on the predecessor.

To further corroborate the existence of the Nexus 7 successor, Google+ user Fabio Santos too posted a snapshot of an unreleased 'Best Buy' advertisement  featuring the same device titled 'New Google Nexus 7' (16GB) with a price-tag of $229.99. [To view Best Buy ad featuring Nexus 7-2, Click Here]

The revelation comes just days after search engine giant Google sent out invites for an event scheduled to take place on 24 July. The media briefing is reported to be anchored by Android/Chrome division head Sundar Pichai. Many believe that the event will witness the launch of Nexus 7 successor and also the new Android mobile OS v4.3 Jelly Bean.

As per recent reports, the second-generation Nexus device will sport a 7.0-inch full HD display and run on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series quad-core processor with 2GB RAM. Other specifications include 5.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 1.2-megapixel snapper on the front, a major improvement from the predecessor which boasts of only a single camera on the front side.
