Google Nexus 6 aka Motorola Shamu Snapshots, Specification Details Surface Online Ahead of Launch

The eagerly awaited 2014 edition Google flagship smartphone Nexus 6 aka Motorola Shamu's specifications and snapshots have surface online ahead of the speculated mid-October launch.

Technology blog 9to5Google have got hold of the exclusive picture and specifications of the alleged Google Nexus 6. In the picture, the new Nexus device's design language is very identical to the recently released second generation Motorola Moto X, sans the size.

The placement of front-speakers at top and bottom and also the camera module with ring flash with dual LEDs on the rear-side are uncanny.

But on the exterior, Nexus 6 looks like an over-stretched Moto X (Gen 2), this might let down some fans (with little hands), who already find some 5.5-inch devices (especially without Stylus) are too awkwardly big to place it on the ears and also too taxing to hold in hands or keep in the pant pockets as well.

Nexus 6 phone reportedly sports a mammoth 5.92-inch QHD (aka 2K resolution: 1440x2560p) display with a staggering pixel density of 498 ppi (pixels per inch) and ship with Android L powered by 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, 13.0-megapixel camera with 4K video recording ability, and a 2.1-megapixel snapper on the front.

Sans the screen size, all other leaked specifications of the Nexus 6 are very much in line with previous reports.

However, the phone developers - neither Google nor Motorola have come forward to respond to the report. Until the companies clear the air over the rumours, this report will remain as pure speculations only.

Word on the street is that Google is expected to unveil the Motorola Nexus 6 with Android L OS and also the rumoured HTC Nexus 9 tablet PC in mid-October (either 15/16 October) and go on sale on 1 November.
