France-based online retailer 'Club SFR Smartphones' has released a video, purported to be of the upcoming Google Nexus 5 running on the Key Lime Pie (aka v4.4 Kit Kat) OS, just days ahead of the official launch.
In the seven-minute long video, an anonymous user shows the alleged Nexus smartphone from different angles, some of the applications (Camera, Google Earth and more) and the settings configurations.
Even though it looks credible enough to believe that this handset might be Nexus 5, there are few anomalies in the video which suggest this may be a prototype model. For instance, the phone's back-cover does not feature the 'Nexus' logo embellishment carried by the smartphone on the Google Kit Kat statue unveiling video. As the user goes through the settings options, we can see that the OS version says Key Lime Pie, not v4.4 Kit Kat.
Adding weight to the argument, certain applications (Google Photos, app drawer, search app and others) were missing some additional features which were rumoured to come in the new OS, reported Android Police. [To view the video, click here]
With the rumuored launch set for 15 October, many more snapshots and features of Nexus are expected roll out soon.
Google Nexus 5 reportedly sports a 4.97-inch full HD display with a pixel density of 442 ppi (pixels per inch) and is said to run on the recently unveiled v4.4 Kit Kat OS out-of-the box.
Under the hood, it is expected to pack a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, and come in two storage variants with different battery capacities - 16GB (with 2300 mAh battery) model and 32GB (with 3000 mAh battery) variants. They are speculated to be priced $299 (₹18, 500) and $399(₹24,700) respectively.
Other rumoured features include an advanced 8.0-megapixel main camera with MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical System) technology and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
