Google Nexus 5 Red and Yellow Variants Tipped to Debut in Late February: Report

When Apple unveiled the multi-colored models of iPhone 5C in late 2013, Nokia trolled the American company for imitating their bright-hued Lumia series handsets. And now it seems like Google is pursuing the same path as reports emerge that the search engine giant may soon introduce new colored variants of its flagship Nexus 5.

A Vietnamese technology website has got hold of the alleged sample prototype of the red Nexus 5. The picture released by the blog shows the phone's back panel, with the 'Nexus' logo embellishment, seen on the original black and white models available in the market.

Beside the red model, works are underway to introduce an yellow variant on the lines of Nokia's bright Lumia models. Both commercial versions are expected to hit Vietnam stores around late February or early March, noted the website. However, there is no word when the new Nexus 5 colour variants will get launched in global markets.

The new report comes just a day after a leaked video that showed six new color variants of the Nexus 5, along with the black and white models. Even though the rumors of new Nexus colour models have went wild on the internet, device-manufacturers Google and LG are yet to respond to the reports.

In related news, Nexus 5 co-developer LG is contemplating releasing the company's flagship model G2 in yellow and red colors variants in a few months time.
