Price and specification details of Google's soon-to-be-released LG Nexus 5 (2015) aka Bullhead have surfaced online.
Technology blog GizChina has claimed that the upcoming LG Nexus 5 (2015) will boast of a 5.2-inch QHD (250x1440p) display and pack Snapdragon 620 series SoC (System on Chip) backed by 4GB RAM, 64GB v5.1 eMMC storage and a 3180 mAh battery.
It has also learnt that Nexus 5 (2015) will house a feature-rich 13mp camera boasting a IMX278 RGBW sensor, a 6-element f/1.8 aperture lens, OIS, laser autofocus, and a dual-tone LED flash.
And on the front, it is said to house a 4mp camera with OV4682 RGB-IR sensor and Iris scanner. Despite housing high-end hardware, the Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to cost around $300 to $400 (€273-365/₹19,125-₹25,500).
Though most of the features revealed by GizChina are in line with earlier reports, there are a couple of anomalies.
Previously, the Nexus 5 (2015) was believed to feature Snapdragon 808 Hexa-core processor, the one used in LG's flagship G4, but the latest report says it will come with Snapdragon 620 Octa-core, casting doubts over the latest report. Also, the latest report has claimed that the LG Nexus 5 (2015) will house Iris scanner technology in the front-camera.
Many Android fans desire to have this kind of advanced bio-metric technology in smartphones, but the Nexus 5 already houses a finger-print scanner for secured unlocking of the phone. So, why would LG incorporate Iris scanner? It is impractical and will make the Nexus 5 (2015) too expensive and cost well over the rumoured price stated by GizChina.
