India's long wait for Google's Nexus 4 is finally over. The pre-orders for the much-awaited smartphone have begun at online retailer Flipkart on Wednesday.

The 16GB variant of the phone is listed on the website with a price tag of ₹25,990. The listing referred to the phone as LG Google Nexus 4. It is speculated that the smartphone will show up on Google PlayStore in the coming days.

On the specification fronts, Google Nexus 4 smartphone sports a 4.7-inch IPS HD screen and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. It houses 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Other features inlcude 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 2,100mAH battery, wireless charging and the Photo Sphere camera function.

Unveiled in October 2012, the phone has been a sensation in the mobile market around the globe. The phone went out of stock immediately after its release in many markets like the US, Britain and Germany.  The device was priced $299 for 8GB and $349 for 16GB unlocked models. The delayed launch of the handset in India has left many disspointed in the country.

Earlier reports suggested that the delay in launch is due to conflicting views between LG and Google over its pricing for the Indian market. Now the sighting of the device on the retailers' website is a sign of its imminent release in India.
