On Tuesday (29 September), Google unveiled the much awaited Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X in San Francisco.
The search engine giant confirmed that both the smartphones can be pre-ordered on Google Store (device) in the US, the UK, Ireland and Japan, from Tuesday onwards. However, the company refrained from revealing the release details of the handsets in other markets.
However, LG, maker of Nexus 5 (2013) and Nexus 4 (2012) series, in its official press statement, has disclosed that the new Nexus 5X will hit stores in 40 regions on 19 October via Google Store and through local brick-and-mortar shops in fourth quarter.
The South Korean company didn't divulge in specific countries' names, but it is widely reported that India will be part of the second roll-out phase, since India is a huge smartphone market (third biggest in the world), It would be unwise for LG to delay any further or else it will certainly lose out to rivals.
As of now, there is no official word from Huawei with regard to Nexus 6P's availability in India. It is imperative for both Huawei and LG to release their respective phones as early as possible so as to compete with big brands like Samsung (Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+ already rolled out) and Apple, which has actually confirmed to release the new iPhone 6S series on 16 October to cash in on the festive season that is set to kick off in mid-October and last till second week of November, culminating with Diwali (aka Deepavali in South India).
