Search engine giant Google has launched a new custom snap-on Live Case service to Nexus 5X, 6P and Nexus 6 (2014) in the U.S.
This personalisation service is similar to Motorola's Moto Maker, wherein the company allows the consumers to pick colours for the shell, camera module ring on the back, personalised message engraving and also matching wallpapers for Moto X series. Now, Google wants its Nexus series owners to experience the new snap-on cases with customised places (maps) and photos on the back of the phone.
"Our design studio on the Google Store allows you to personalize your phone case with either your favorite photo or a special place on Google Maps. Then, with dozens of filters, you can make your design fit your style – be it vibrant and bright or polished and chic," Google said.
Both the "Photos" and "Places" Live Case service will ask consumers to upload some related images to create matching live wallpaper. Once you put the snap-on case on the phone, the live wallpaper gets activated on the home screen. [Check out the video demo below]
Another key aspect of Google's new snap-on Live Case is that it comes with inbuilt NFC chip wherein it acts as a physical button-based shortcut. It is programmable to any application in the phone.
Interested buyers can now log in to Google Store (HERE) and get customisable snap-on Live Case for $35 (around €31/Rs. 2328) a piece.
