Search engine giant Google officially launched the Chromecast and Nexus 6 in India on Tuesday, 9 December.
Google India head Rajan Anandan confirmed (via Twitter) that the much-awaited Chromecast, a media streaming device will go on sale for ₹2,999 at GOSF (Great Online Shopping Festival) 2014 on 10 December. It will be sold exclusively on Snapdeal (online) and select Airtel shops across the country.
"In India, Chromecast currently supports hundreds of apps including YouTube and Google Play Movies, as well as apps from partners like Spuul, YuppTV and Eros Now — home to popular Bollywood and regional movies like RamLeela, Chennai Express and Queen, as well as music, and TV shows on-demand," said Vivek Jayaraman, Product Manager, Chromecast.
As a part of promotional campaign, Airtel and Eros are offering Chromecast customers a range of subscription and content-bundling options.
That's not all; Motorola Nexus 6 will be put up for sale again on Tuesday midnight (to be precise, 12am, 10 December) on Flipkart and may also be made available at Google Play store as well.

Besides Chromecast and Motorola Nexus 6, GOSF 2014 will provide platform for products from HP, Lenovo, Tata Housing, Karbonn, Van Heusen, Asian Paints, Philips, Uber, JBL, Benetton, Alia Bhatt collection, EverPure water purifier and My Universe as well.

For the uninitiated, Chromecast is a thumb-sized device, which resembles an aesthetically well-designed USB driver. Once connected to smart TV through HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). The device will connect to Internet Wi-Fi hub and provide media content, thus providing alternate option for cable/DTH service.
