"Practising in law, you don't go by instincts; you wait, listen and watch," opens the trailer of The Good Wife spin-off, titled The Good Fight. Bringing her experience from the original series, Christine Baranski's character, Diane Lockhart, is all one again set to enthral fans with her award-winning performance.
The official trailer, that dropped recently, came after a lot discussion and speculations. While CBS' new show stars Baranski in the lead, a few other faces from the original series will also be a part of the spin-off. The returning cast includes Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn and Sarah Steele as Marissa Gold. The show will also see Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie as Maia, Diane's goddaughter; Justin Bartha as Colin, a love interest for Lucca; and Delroy Lindo as Robert Boseman.
The tagline of the show, Get Nasty, has got everyone talking. It would be interesting to see how nasty things could get. The show will also see a lesbian relationship between Maia and her girlfriend Amy (Helene Yorke). Executive producer Robert King tells EW, "That's Maia's longtime girlfriend, who is a lawyer herself. She graduated from law school a while ago. Now it's Maia's turn to graduate from law school."
According to the report, the spin-off will begin with a one-year leap from where things ended in the final broadcast of The Good Wife. CBS' original series was spread across seven seasons and ended on May 8. The Good Fight will debut on CBS and CBS All Access on Sunday, February 19 at 8 PM. New episodes will drop weekly on Sundays on CBS All Access.
