"The Good Wife" Season 7 will take viewers through new twists and turns in Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) life along with new cast members when it returns on CBS.
After the exit of a few regular cast members, including Will Gardner (Josh Charles), Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi) and Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode), showrunners Robert and Michelle King are planning to include a potential character in the critically acclaimed drama.
Although several speculations have suggested that British actress Cush Jumbo will replace Panjabi in the upcoming season, creators have denied it. "I wouldn't say she's replacing Archie because she's irreplaceable, but we wanted someone who could fill that same interesting dynamic on the show without doing the same thing," Robert said, according to TV Guide.
In a similar vein, Michelle said, "We're still figure out exactly [her role], but we're not suggesting that Cush will be an investigator or take on that role."
In the meantime, speculations are also doing the rounds on Alicia's next partner. While some are suggesting that the lawyer will get back with her husband Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) and help him become the next vice president, others stated that Jonathan Elfman (Steven Pasquale) will return to her life and she will run for the Governor's post.
Meanwhile, "The Good Wife" fans have urged CBS via Facebook to bring back Matthew Goode's character. The messages ranged from "Please bring Matthew Goode back", "Finn!!!! He needs to come back. I think I was as disappointed as Alicia was when he said he couldn't do it", to "I'd really like to see Finn back."
Since the protagonist is standing at the crossroads, it remains to be seen where the legal drama will take her in the upcoming season, which is likely to premiere by mid-September.
