When "The Good Wife" returns on CBS with season 7, it is likely to revolve around the relationship between Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) and her campaign manager Jonathan Elfman's (Steven Pasquale).
The legal drama ended up showing Louis Canning (Michael J Fox) at the doorsteps of the protagonist asking her "Wanna Partner?" and fans will have to wait till the premiere of upcoming season to know the answer.
But it can be assumed that opening a law firm with Louis will be the last thing that Alicia would like to do in her life because the two have been rivals for the last six seasons. Meanwhile, her decision to join hands with him will also affect her relationship with Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry).
However, Margulies' character is currently jobless and is looking for an efficient partner to begin a law firm with after Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode) chose his own path.
Nevertheless, it has already been revealed that Goode will not return as a series regular in the seventh season. So the only option that is left for the protagonist is to run for Governor's post if her husband Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) decides to be the Vice President.
Earlier, Margulies had revealed that Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor David Hyde Pierce will reprise his role as Frank Prady in the upcoming season. "He did a six-episode arc, but he'll come back," she said.
So fans can expect to watch the female lead once again trying out her luck in politics and it increases the chances for Steven Pasquale to reprise his role as her campaign manager Elfman.
However, since followers of "The Good Wife" have already made it clear that they would like to see their favourite character in the courtroom, the possibility for this plotline is very bleak in the upcoming season.
So it remains to be seen whether season 7 will explore the relationship between the protagonist and her campaign manager or revolve around her new law firm.
