"The Good Wife" will have two fan favourites back on the show when the legal drama returns on CBS after the winter break next year.
Actor Dylan Baker will reprise his role as Colin Sweeney and actress Laura Benanti will portray the role of Sweeney's third wife.
"Colin Sweeney wants the firm to sue a TV show for defamation after the show steals his character, and makes it look like he killed his first wife. Laura Benanti also returns as his estranged third wife, Renata, who decides to testify against him in court," co-creator Robert King told Entertainment Weekly.
After legal commentator Frank Prady (David Hyde Pierce), Baker is expected to be the game changer in the second half of "The Good Wife" season 6.
Baker has been three-time Emmy nominee for depicting the role of Sweeney in the CBS popular drama.
Meanwhile, "The Good Wife" will air its mid-season finale episode on 23 November, which is expected to provide a clear picture about Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry), Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) as well as Alicia and Peter Florrick (Chris Noth).
However, The next episode of the legal drama might turn the tables on Alicia as Michael J. Fox will be reprising his role as Louis Canning.
As per the official synopsis, "Alicia is going to take on a college rape case, which pits her against Louis Canning when it moves from a university hearing to civil court."
