Christians are set to observe Good Friday, one of the most important and solemn days of the year for the community, to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, his passion and suffering.
Across the world, Good Friday is marked with fasting and prayers as well as processions re-enacting the crucifixion through the ritual of Stations of the Cross.
Pope Francis will preside over the Good Friday commemoration Friday in Vatican, and you can watch the event live through the Vatica's official YouTube video below. Live streaming of Pope Francis' events will also be available on Vatican Radio, Catholic TV and the Vatican Television Centre.
Christians are observing the Holy Week, the last week of Lent, which started with Palm Sunday and will end with Easter March 27. During the week, Christians commemorate the last few days of Jesus Christ on Earth. Palm Sunday marks Jesus' entry into Jerusalem; Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his suffering, while Easter marks his resurrection.
