While viewers are impatiently waiting to see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler cracking some quirky jokes and celebs winning honours, looks like the winners of Golden Globes 2015 Best Picture Drama and Best Picture Comedy/Musical have already been revealed.
Earlier today names of two new movies accidentally showed up on the Awards' official website under the images of 2014 winner. However, they were later removed.
Oprah Winfrey's film "Selma" popped up under Best Picture Drama and Meryl Streep's film "Into the Woods" appeared under the Best Picture Comedy/Musical category. Interestingly, this is not first time that such a leak has happened. In 2012 a similar thing happened with SAG awards.
However, the Golden Globe Awards' community maintains that the technical glitch should not be taken seriously and names of the winners were not revealed.
"While testing the official website of the Golden Globe Awards for Sunday's ceremony, Bluefin inadvertently took the test live. We randomly selected two film titles with no knowledge of the category winners. We are solely responsible for the error," Deadline quoted a spokesperson.
If the spokesperson's statement is anything to go by then may be the award community was just testing the website and "Selma" and "Into the Woods" were two randomly selected names.
Still, "Selma" is the frontrunner for the Best Picture Drama. Critics have lauded the film worldwide and it is on the top of the list of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, according to CBS News.
Meanwhile, "Into the Woods" may have serious competition from "Birdman." It has been predicted that Rob Marshall's fantasy film may end up being a runner up as "Birdman" has won immense appreciation from critics as well as the audience.
The Golden Globes winners will be announced on 11 January 2015. Fey and Poehler will return to co-host the show for the third time and the event will air live from Los Angeles from 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
