The next season of Discovery Channel's "Gold Rush" will be full of emotional and sentimental moments as fans will get to watch the aftermath of legendary gold miner John Schnabel's passing.
In the latest sneak peek of next season, the other miners can be seen paying tribute to John, also lovingly known as Grandpa Schnabel. John died this year in March at the age of 96.
John's grandson, Parker Schnabel, who is also a professional miner, can be seen attending the funeral of his grandfather along with his father, Roger Schnabel in the teaser trailer.
"I lost a dad and you lost a grandpa," Roger tells his son, "all at the same time."
"I don't know what it's going to be like without him," an emotional Parker says.
As stated in the recently revealed press release, in "Gold Rush" Season 7, Parker's emotions and leadership skills will be put to test. The press release reads:
"[Parker] makes the biggest investment in the history of his operation by ordering a customised $600,000 wash-plant. But will it be enough to beat out his arch-rival Todd Hoffman? With a new girlfriend from Australia, Ashley Yule, joining him in the Klondike, it will be a season like no other for Parker. His gold mining plan is to go lean and mean in an attempt to make his biggest profit yet."
The Parker family has issued a statement in gratitude to all the fans and viewers who have supported them in the tough times.
"We couldn't have asked for a better father, grandfather and overall family man. He was a true legend and we appreciate all of your love and support as we celebrate his wonderful life," the statement reads.
Todd Hoffman, who is also known as "The King of the Klondike," is also present in the teaser and he doesn't look very happy with his current situation. He is stressed with all the new work after he moved his entire operation to Oregon in Season 7.
"Gold Rush" Season 7 will air on Oct. 14 with a two-hour premiere episode on Discovery Channel.
