Tovino Thomas and Wamiqa Gabbi's latest Malayalam movie Godha might not have raked in a record opening day collection like Mohanlal's Pulimurugan or Mammootty's The Great Father, but it has been performing tremendously well in the 110 theatres in Kerala.

The Basil Joseph directorial is said to have made a decent business of approximately Rs 1.21 crore on the release day from across the state. According to trade analysts, the movie based on wrestling has minted a gross collection of Rs 4.16 crore within four days of its grand run. But Godha was not released in multiplexes in Kochi, due to an ongoing strike on the theatrical share, and this has affected the business of the film.
Meanwhile, with the Tovino-starrer releasing all across UAE and GCC on Thursday, May 25, and on the next day in other Indian states, Godha is expected to get stupendous response owing to the positive word of mouth it garners from the Kerala audience. Viewers have been praising Tovino, Wamiqa and Renji Panicker for the remarkable performances in the movie, which many have even tagged as Mollywood's Dangal.

However, in less than three days of its release in Kerala, pirated copies of Godha had surfaced online, and one of the producers of movie had requested the audience to save Malayalam cinema by saying no to piracy. Meanwhile, the team of Godha is on a promotional spree by meeting the audience and getting their live response from different screens in Kerala. The unique promotional strategies used by the makers have surely grabbed the attention of the cine-goers.
