The third weekend of May is going to be a crucial time for Mollywood industry with the release of five Malayalam movies. It includes Asif Ali's Adventures of Omanakuttan, Tovino Thomas' Godha, Jayaram's Achayans and Sreenivasan's Ayaal Sasi, which have been slated to hit the theatres in Kerala on May 18 or 19.

The comedy entertainer, starring Asif Ali and Bhavana is the directorial venture of Rohith VS. The movie's teasers and songs have already impressed the audience, who believe it to be the comeback movie of the actors. Aju Varghese, Siddique, Saiju Kurup, Kalabhavan Shajon and Srinda Arhaan also appear in significant roles in the film. The makers have been postponing its release date for quite some time, and have finally locked the date May 19.
Director VKP's Careful is said to be bringing awareness on road safety and the rising number of road accidents in the country. Soon after the release of the thrilling trailer, many celebs, including Mohanlal, Priyadarshan, have been promoting the movie as it delivers a social message to the audience. It marks the comeback of actresses Jomol and Sreejaya, while Sandhya Raju, Saiju Kurup, Vijay Babu, Parvathy Nambiar, Ashokan, Aju Varghese, Jose Prakash, Sreejith Ravi and Vineeth Kumar are also part of its ensemble cast. The film will hit the screens in India on May 26.
Tovino Thomas' sports movie Godha on wrestling is one of the most anticipated movies in Malayalam. The promo videos have created a huge hype around the film, and the young actor and director Basil Joseph have been extensively promoting it in all ways possible. The movie stars Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi, and in a recent interview Tovino has claimed that Godha is her movie. The upcoming film also stars Aju Varghese and Renji Panicker in main roles, and will hit the screens on May 19.
What stands out for Achayans is its ensemble cast, Jayaram, Unni Mukundan, Adil Ibrahim, Sanju Sivram, Amala Paul and Anu Sithara in lead roles, and is expected to make a mark at the Kerala box office just because of this fact. However, the previous movies of director Kannan Thamarakkulam with Jayaram, namely Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare and Aadupuliyattam were not up to mark, and if Achayans will finally break the jinx is something we need to wait and watch. The comedy entertainer has been scheduled to hit the screens on May 19.
Versatile actor Sreenivasan's next Ayaal Sassi is directed by Sajin Baabu, and has Kochu Preman, Marimayam Sreekumar, Jayakrishnan, Gopakumar, Anil Nedumangad, Rajesh Sharma, Divya Gopinath and Jayakrishnan in significant roles. The movie will be released on May 19.
