The fourth edition of the Gionee Star Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) was held at National Sports club of India (NSCI) Stadium in Mumbai on 20 January. GIMA awards honour talents in India across a wide range of films and non-film music genres.
Actor Ranveer Singh hosted the show for the second time, having previously presided over the second edition of GIMA held in 2011.
During the ceremony, GIMA presented 13 awards in the non-film music categories and 11 awards for film music.
GIMA was a star-studded event with the presence of several celebrities including Sonakshi Sinha who was accompanied by her mother Poonam Sinha, Sunny Leone along with her hubby Daniel Weber, Shreya Ghosal, Sophie Choudry, Honey Singh, Asha Bhosle, Rakul Preet and Richa Chadda among others.
The evening was coupled with enthralling performances by Bollywood stars including Sonakshi Sinha, Ranveer Singh, Sunny Leone, Shreya Ghosal, Honey Singh and Shankhar-Ehsaan.
Playback singer Asha Bhosle has been honoured with the Music Living Legend Awards at the event.
Romantic flick "Aashiqui 2" won both male and female best playback singer of the year with Arijit Singh for "Tum Hi Ho" and Shreya Ghoshal for "Sun Raha Rai Na".
GIMA is initiated by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt.Ltd. It operates under the guidance of its Advisory Board comprising luminaries from the music and film industry
