Season 3 episode 12 of "Girl Meets World," which will be aired by Disney Channel on Friday, Aug. 26, will see yet another "Boy Meets World" reference in the form of silver gloves. The episode, titled "Girl Meets Bear," is all about Riley (Rowan Blanchard) losing her beloved teddy bear and, as always, her friends and family join forces to find it.
While the big hunt is going on, Auggie (August Maturo) happens to discover the silver gloves Cory (Ben Savage) had received from his dad in "Boy Meets World" Season 1 episode 19 "Kid Gloves." Fans of the 90s show will remember how Alan (William Russ) had given the silver necklace with silver boxing gloves on them as a gift to Cory on his birthday.
However, Cory, who did not know the meaning behind the gift, was careful with it and lost it in no time. Alan later tells him that he had received the gloves during his time in the Navy. He relates the story of how he was part of the boxing team and ended up winning against everyone except the "biggest, baddest, ugliest" opponent of them all.

Alan ended up losing "buckets of blood" and almost lost an eye, which was apparently hanging out of his socket towards the end of the fight. Regardless, he says it was all worth it, because he had a son to pass on this legacy to, a son he could share this story and the medal with. But alas, Cory lost it, because he was not aware of what they represented.
In "Boy Meets World," fans never saw the gloves again it was never again brought up. While Riley looks for her teddy bear and Auggie learns about the importance of certain objects, Cory will reminisce this particular story as well.
