Specifications of the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus surfaced online just a few weeks ahead of its launch on 21 December.
Technology blog Phone Radar, citing a reliable source, has revealed that the upcoming Gionee Marathon M5 Plus will boast fingerprint sensor on home button with superfast 0.5 second response time to unlock the device.
The new Gionee device is also said to feature 5.5-inch HD screen and come packed with MediaTek quad-core processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.1 UI, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 128GB), 8MP camera on the rear-side, a 5MP snapper on the front and a 5000 mAh battery.
The tipster has also leaked the promotional images of the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus showing the physical home button with metallic outline.
And on the back, it shows off the primary camera module place on top left corner with LED flash.
The design language of the new phone looks refreshing. But, the features listed by the spy raises questions over its authenticity. For instance, the battery capacity (5000 mAh) and rear-side camera (8MP) specifications of Marathon M5 Plus is less superior compared to its predecessor, which boasted 13MP camera and a huge 6020 mAh cell.
Only upgrade we see in the Marathon M5 Plus is fingerprint sensor, whereas the other key features such as display, RAM capacity, storage, front-camera are same as seen in its predecessor Marathon M5.
