Gionee has finally launched the Marathon M5 Plus in India after months of wait. The device is known for its mammoth 5,020mAh battery and was first released in the company's home country China in December last year.
Gionee Marathon M5 Plus has now hit the stores across India with a price tag of Rs. 26,999 (around $400) and is available in champagne gold and polar gold colours. It is available online exclusively on Flipkart. Customers can also avail exchange offer up to Rs. 15,000 from the website.

Our motto with the Marathon series remains the same with each device to make people's life stress-free with no battery issues bothering them," India CEO and MD for Gionee Arvind Vohra was quoted as saying by GizChina.
The Marathon M5 Plus is the successor of the Marathon M5. It sports a 6-inch AMOLED Full HD display with 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has full metal body, features a fingerprint scanner in the physical home button, measures 160.9x81.2x8.4 mm in dimension and weighs 208 g.
Under the hood, it has a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, an Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Amigo 3.1 U, a 64GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, 3GB RAM, 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash features, and a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash features and a 5MP front-snapper.
In terms connectivity, the device supports 4G LTE, USB Type-C, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
