Consumer electronics major Gionee has launched two new Marathon series smartphones M5 Plus and M5 Enjoy in China.

The new Marathon M5 Plus is a top-end phone among the two. It sports a massive 6.0-inch full HD AMOLED display and houses finger-print sensor on the home button with a super fast identification time of 0.38 seconds.

Key attribute of the device is its battery. It boasts high-capacity 5020 mAh cell capable of running the phone for close to 829 hours under standby mode.

Other noteworthy features include MediaTek Octa-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage, 13MP primary camera on the rear-side and 5MP snapper on the front.

On the other hand, Marathon M5 Enjoy flaunts a 5.5-inch HD TFT screen and also boasts finger-print based bio-metric technology.

It also features MediaTek quad-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8MP camera on the back and 5MP front-shooter and massive 5000 mAh battery, which is capable of keeping the phone running for up to 775 hours.

The company has already listed both Marathon M5 Plus and M5 Enjoy on the Gionee's official e-shop for Â¥2,499 (around $ 386/€353/Rs. 25,570) and Â¥1,999 (around $309/€283/Rs.20,450).

Yes, Gionee is most likely to launch both Marathon M5 Plus and M5 Enjoy as the company has been selling previous version of Marathon series smartphones for quite some. Word on the street is that the devices will be tweaked before they go on sale in India. It is a common practice for Chinese companies to alter phone's network modem so that they conform to telecom regulations of the country. With the addition of two more devices, Gionee will be able to offer Marathon M5 series in wider budget ranges.
