Gionee finally launched the all-new Marathon M5 in Bangalore on Tuesday, 24 November, months after the handset debuted in China earlier this year. The Gionee Marathon M5 appeals to a wide range of audience with its marathon battery and great looks.
The Gionee Marathon M5's main USP is its battery. The handset houses two batteries of 3,010mAh, which adds to a total value of 6,020mAh. With the help of this dual battery set-up, the Marathon M5 is expected to last four days on a single charge. To boost the already extended battery life, Gionee also offers an extreme mode that extends the standby time by 62 hours, even if just 5% charge is remaining.
With two built-in batteries, the question arises how long it will take to charge the device to its full capacity. To ease up the worry, the Gionee Marathon M5 is packed with fast-charging technology. In addition, the Marathon M5 can also transform into a power bank to charge other devices.
Besides the battery, the Marathon M5 features an elegant design. Despite packing a mammoth battery pack, the Marathon M5 measures just 8.5mm thick and weighs 211 grams. The handset has a fine metallic finish for a premium look.
As for specifications, the Marathon M5 comes with a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 5MP front snapper. The handset is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable memory. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.1 OS.
The Gionee Marathon M5 has dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE bandwidths. In India, the Marathon M5 is exclusively available on Flipkart for Rs 17,999.
