Chinese smartphone maker Gionee's latest offering Gpad G4 has made its official India debut, with a price tag of ₹18,999, along with another new smartphone M2.
The Gpad G4 phablet had made its way to online retailers earlier in January. It flaunts a 5.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek 6589T quad-core processor, paired with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. It runs on the ubiquitous Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and packs 1GB of RAM. The phone houses a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 28mm wide angle lens. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Google Maps, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm audio jack and micro USB 2.0
Other features of the handset include 16 GB internal memory, without expandable option, and 3200 mAh battery that boasts upto 26 hours on 2G, 14 hours on 3G and up to 375 hours of standby time. It also features Proximity sensor, G-sensor and E-Compass, Face Unlock and Ambient Light sensor.
On the other hand, the M2 sports a 5-inch display with a FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, along with a Mali 400MP GPU. It comes equipped with an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Like the Gpad G4,the M2 also operates on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. In terms of memory, the M2 comes with 1GB of RAM and a 4GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded by upto 32GB, with microSD card.
Measuring 144x72x10.5mm, the Gionee M2 smartphone packs 4200mAh battery, which promises up to 31.5 hours of talktime on 2G, 24 hours on 3G and up to 555 hours of standby time. Connectivity options of the M2 include 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and FM radio. It is available at ₹10,999.
Both smartphones will be available in black and white colours in India.
