Indian smartphone maker Micromax pulled the wraps off its next generation Canvas 4 on Monday, the very same day Chinese rival Gionee launched a smartphone called Elife E5 in India.
The new smartphone is said to be priced ₹19,999 and will be available in three colours variants - black, white and yellow. Details regarding the actual date of availability of the phone in retail stores are still under wraps.
Elife E5 sports a 4.8-inch super AMOLED display with HD 720x1280p resolution and ships with Android v4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. In terms of internal hardware, it runs on 1.5GHz MediaTek quad-core processor and has 1GB RAM paired with 16GB inbuilt memory space which can be further expanded via microSD card.
Camera wise, the device sports an 8.0-megapixel main camera with LED flash support on the rear side and a 5.0-megapixel secondary camera.
Considering the overall aspects, Gionee Elife E5 packs pretty decentfeatures for a sub-₹20,000 price-tag, but it will have a tough time competing with the recently launched Karbonn Titanium S9 and Micromax Canvas 4.
