Chinese smartphone maker Gionee unveiled the mid-range Dream D1 smartphone in India. The device is expected to hit retail stores by the end of March.
The Dream D1 smartphone sports a 4.65-inch 'Super AMOLED HD Plus' screen with Gorilla Glass 2 display shield.
The new device runs on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS powered by a quad-core processor with graphical processing unit PowerVR Series5Xt. It comes with an 8.0-megapixel main camera with digital image sensor BIS (Backside Illuminated Sensor), Auto-focus and LED Flash. The front side of smartphone sports a 0.3-megapixel camera.
Not being a big brand in the subcontinent, Gionee's Dream D1 holds quite an expensive price tag of ₹17,999 in a price-sensitive market like India. In comparison, it's rivals Xolo Q800, Micromax A116 Canvas HD with similar specs are priced well below the ₹14,000 mark.
