Chinese technology giant, Gionee is reportedly launching its newly unveiled flagship smartphone Elife S5.5 in India later this month.
Indian arm of Gionee has sent out press invites to media houses to attend the launch event of Elife S5.5 in Goa on 30 March.
Touted as the world's slimmest handset, Elife S5.5 sports just 5.55 mm in thickness and weighs just 130 g. It flaunts 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) screen with pixel density of 441 ppi (pixels per inch).
The new Gionee phone runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean (Amigo v2.0) powered by the MediaTek based 1.7GHz Octa-core chipset with 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage and 2300 mAh battery. It also boasts a 13.0-megapixel rear camera and the world's first 95 degree ultra-wide angle 5.0-megapixel front camera capable taking self-group shots as well as full body selfies.
As of now, the Gionee Elife S5.5 has been released in China for 2299 RMB (around ₹22,710) and is expected to hold more or less the same price-tag with the addition of import duty taxes.
