Smartphone users are quite familiar with distortion while zooming on a subject, but Gionee is looking to change that. According to a report by Mobipicker, Gionee has teased an image to demonstrate the Lossless Zoom function on its upcoming Elife E8. This new feature helps users zoom in on a subject without compromising on the quality of the image, which is usually the case in any smartphone.
The latest bit of information adds to the growing list of leaked specs about the Elife E8 in the recent days. Most recent rumour on Elife E8 suggested that the handset will feature a 23mp camera that will be capable of capturing images at 100mp. While the latest report does not specify at what zoom level the quality of the image remains intact, but the sample image is said to be taken by magnifying to a certain extent.
In addition to showing the sample for Lossless Zoom in Elife E8, Gionee also shared an image of the handset's rear. We can gather several details about the handset such as its metal frame, fingerprint sensor, dual tone LED flash, speaker, 3.5mm jack on top of the handset, charging port at the bottom and a dedicated camera button along with volume rocker and lock button all lined up on the right side.
Even though Gionee hasn't confirmed anything, leaked specs have made up for a convincing spec sheet. A recent report suggested the Elife E8 to feature a 4.6-inch 1,440x2,560 pixel screen with 639ppi. The handset is said to be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and sport 32GB internal storage. Gionee will power the handset with Android 5.0 Lollipop with its own Amigo 3.0 UI. To make sure the handset runs longer between charges, there is a massive 3,520mAh battery.
The handset will measure 164 x 82.3 x 9.6mm and weigh 207g. Like most high-end phones, Gionee Elife E8 will also support 4G LTE bandwidths.
There is no concrete evidence on the launch and pricing of Elife E8, but the consistent teasers and leaks hint at a sooner release.
