Geri Halliwell, who has just got back from the Spice Girls reunion, is very sad. Although she is the bride-to-be, the former Spice Girl is not happy as her fiancé Christian Horner's parents have decided to boycott the wedding.
Geri's hopes to have a dream wedding seem to have hit a roadblock. Horner's mum and dad, Garry and Sara, have made the decision after a family feud surrounding the Formula1 boss leaving his ex-wife months after she gave birth to their daughter.
Daily Mirror reported that Christian's parents are unhappy that he left his partner of 14 years, Beverley Allen, just months after she gave birth to their first daughter, Olivia.
In December, a family member also confirmed this, saying: "You can say his parents are absolutely devastated."
This is the main reason as to why his folks have apparently decided to snub the couple's upcoming nuptials.
"Geri and Christian are disappointed that his parents aren't coming, but all his brothers, close family and pals will be there. It is going to be a great day so they aren't over-thinking it," a source close to the couple said.
But, it was also confirmed that the Red Bull F1 boss is believed to have patched things up with his ex. "They have resolved their differences having come to an agreement and Christian is just getting on with things now," the source said.
The couple is, however, not over-thinking this and is getting geared up for the big day.
"Both Geri and Christian are very excited about spending the rest of their lives together. Geri has been planning her big day for a while and it is going to be a fairytale wedding," the source said.
The pair will tie the knot on Friday at Syon House in West London.
So what if Christian's folks will be missing the D-day, the source adds: "Geri loves her family and has made sure they have pride of place on the big day."
"Even though Christian's parents won't be there, her mum and sister Natalie, who will be maid-of-honour, will be there supporting her all the way."
However, we wish Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell a happy wedding.
