Nani's "Gentleman" did great business at the U.S. box office on its first day, but failed to beat opening-day business record of his previous release "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" (BBM).
"Gentleman" premiered in several centres across North America on Thursday night and received brilliant response everywhere. "Gentleman" collected $71,938 (Rs. 48.25 lakh) at the U.S. box office in the preview shows. The film shattered the records of "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" ($70,132) and "Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha" (KVPG - $41,369).
The Mohan Krishna Indraganti-directed romantic thriller garnered positive talk from the U.S. audience and the word of mouth boosted its collections on the opening day. "Gentleman" collected $141,571 at the U.S. box office on the first day. Tollywood trade analyst Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted: "#Gentleman collects $141,571 on Friday to take total to $213,989.
