Geetha Govindam has made a brilliant collection at the US box office in the premiere shows on Tuesday, Aug 14 and become the fourth biggest Tollywood opener after Agnyaathavaasi, Bharat Ane Nenu and Rangasthalam.
The success of Pelli Choopulu, Arjun Reddy and Mahanati has amassed huge number of fans of Vijay Devarakonda in the US. All of them were impressed with the promos of Geetha Govindam and were eagerly waiting for its release. The distributors made grand arrangements for its release to cash in on the craze.
The Parasuram-directed romantic comedy film was premiered in 180 screens across the country and received fantastic response at the ticket counters everywhere. As per early hour updates, Geetha Govindam has collected $377,930 at the US box office in the premiere shows and this number is likely to increase, when the final numbers are released. It has become the biggest opener for Vijay Devarakonda.
Trade expert Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted, "#GeethaGovindam is rocking in USA. Hourly gross for premieres at 11:40 pm PST on 14 August is $377,930 from 146 locations with per location average of $2,589. "

GeethaGovindam has beaten the record of Mahanati, which collected $303,456 at the US box office in the premiere shows. Now, the movie has become the fourth biggest opener Telugu movie of 2018.
