Geetha Govindam is unstoppable even on the weekdays as it made a brilliant collection at the worldwide box office on Monday too. The movie has gone on to cross Rs 60 crore mark in its six-day run.
Having opened to overwhelming response, Geetha Govindam collected Rs 55 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its five-day-extended first weekend. The movie not only recovered 100 percent of the distributors' investment but also earned them 111 percent of profits in just five days. The film became a blockbuster in its opening weekend.
Many people in the film industry were curious to know how Geetha Govindam would perform on the weekdays. The Parasuram-directed romantic comedy film managed to keep the cash registers ringing at the ticket counters on Monday. The movie witnessed a decent footfall in the morning and afternoon shows and it ran to packed houses in some centres in the evening shows.
But when compared to its Sunday business, Geetha Govindam showed a drop of around 50 percent in its collection on Monday, which was a working day. This decline was partially due to the reduction in screen and show counts and ticket prices. But its business was better when compared to other Telugu movies.
Geetha Govindam has reportedly collected over Rs 5.50 crore gross at the worldwide box office on Monday. Its six-day total collection has reached Rs 60 crore gross in the global market. The distributors spent Rs 15 crore on its theatrical rights and the Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starrer has earned Rs 35 crore in six days. The film has fetched them a profit of around Rs 50 crore.
Geetha Govindam is all about how a young man (Vijay Devarakonda) tries to woo a fun-loving girl (Rashmika Mandanna). The movie deals with a routine story, but its entertainment quotient has struck a chord with the movie buffs. It has become a grand treat from family audience.
