Vijay Devarakonda's Geetha Govindam registered decent business at the worldwide box office on Thursday, taking its two-day total collection beyond Rs 25 crore mark in the global market.
Geetha Govindam opened to fantastic response and collected Rs 16.40 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie has struck a chord with the audience and garnered positive talk. Trade experts had predicted that the word of mouth would help it fare well at the ticket counters on the following days.
As predicted, Geetha Govindam continued to keep the cash registers at the ticket counters ringing on Thursday. The movie witnessed 100 percent occupancy in many centres especially the evening shows. Young audience were seen thronging the theatres on the second day.
But when compared to its first day, the Vijay Devarakonda and Raskhmika Mandanna starrer witnessed 30 percent drop in its collection on its second day due to some reason. Firstly, it was the regular working day, after the Independence Day holiday. Secondly, unlike its opening day, Geetha Govindam lacked extra shows (early morning) and high ticket prices. Thirdly, the movie was partially hit by rains in some areas.
The Parasuram-directed romantic comedy film is estimated to have collected Rs 6 crore gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Thursday. Early estimates show that Geetha Govindam has grossed Rs 1.40 crore in Karnataka, Rs 1.30 crore in other parts of India and Rs 1.4 crore in the US and other international markets on its second day.
Geetha Govindam has collected approximately Rs 10.10 crore at the worldwide box office on its second day. Its total collection has reached Rs 26.50 crore in the global market in two days. The movie is estimated to have earned Rs 5.90 crore for its distributors and their two-day earnings stand at Rs 15.70 crore.
