Veteran actor Dr Mohan Babu announced that his movie Gayatri will be released on February 9, 2018. The film will clash with Tholi Prema and Kirrak Party, which will also hit screens on the same date.
Dr Mohan Babu took to his Twitter account this morning and put out a poster that featured the release date of Gayatri. Later in a statement released to media, he confirmed that its shooting is completed. "The final schedule of Gayatri has been wrapped up at Ramanaidu Studios today. Its post-production works are progressing at rapid pace," the senior actor said.
Mohan Babu's son Vishnu Manchu and Shriya Saran are playing the lead roles in Gayatri. "Vishnu Manchu will be appearing in a powerful role and Shriya will be seen opposite him. Recently, the film's team shot crucial scenes on Vishnu and Shriya at Ramoji Film City," the producer added.
Gayatri is directed by Madan and produced by Mohan Babu under his banner Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures. Nikhila Vimal is playing the titular role in the movie, which SS Thaman's music. The film will feature Brahmanandam and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key roles.
Vishnu Manchu is struggling to get a hit and Gayatri is expected to get him one. But the film will face a threat in the form Tholi Prema and Kirrak Party, who may not allow it to become a big hit at the box office.
Tholi Prema is a romantic comedy film, directed by Venky Atluri and produced by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna are playing the lead roles in the movie, for which SS Thaman is the music director. It is set to hit the screens on February 9.
Kirrak Party is an official remake of the blockbuster Kannada film Kirik Party, which is a campus drama. The film marks debut of Sharan Koppisetty as director and it is produced by Anil Sunkara under the banner AK Entertainments. Nikhil Siddharth, Samyuktha Hegde and Simran Pareenja are playing the leads in the movie.
