Gayathri Arun, who is a familiar face with the Malayalam television audience for playing Deepthi IPS in the popular serial "Parasparam", is set to make her debut on the silver screen.
The latest we hear from the industry is that Gayathri will be seen in Venugopan's upcoming directorial venture "Sarvopari Palakkaan."
Interestingly, the actress plays a cop in the upcoming movie as well, in the role of assistant sub inspector Chandra Shivakumar. The movie has Anoop Menon in the lead role as special branch CI Jose K Mani.
The latest reports suggest that the actress had earlier received many lead role offers in several movies, but couldn't commit to any of them as they would clash with the serial "Parasparam." After rejecting a few offers, Gayathri is said to have accepted the offer from the upcoming movie as she needs to be on the set for only a few days.
"Sarvopari Palakkaran" was recently in the news after actress Honey Rose backed out of the project due to her busy schedule. Aparna Balamurali, who rose to fame with the Fahadh Faasil-starrer "Maheshinte Prathikaram", has now been roped in to play the female lead role in the family entertainer. The film also has "Happy Wedding"-fame Anu Sithara in a key role. It is expected to go on floors in August.
Meanwhile, "Parasparam", telecast on the entertainment channel Asianet, is one of the most popular serials in Malayalam and is nearing its 900th episode. For her performance in the serial, Gayathri bagged the most popular actress award during the recently concluded Asianet Television Awards 2016.
